My friend took this picture with my camera. He said he drove by that same spot earlier and that car was not there. So yes Alcari I believe you hit the nail on the head. The driver obviously did not see the speed limit sign and thought the water was passable.
@one small step
I would think that the giant pond where the road used to be would be enough of a barricade. But I do not believe there were any barricades posted leading up to this particular area of flooding. This was the day after it happened and the local PD and emergency services were swamped trying to get to people in need and barricade roads so they might not have gotten to this one yet.
@Ajohnson153
“I would think…”, you say. That’s where you went wrong. *You* would think, and *I* would think. But the people in photos like these…did not have that particular option installed.
This photo makes me laugh. My husband’s friend took this picture, and I’m glad the site gave it a good caption… hilarious!
I had to drive through the weather that caused all of the flooding, and didn’t know it would get this bad.
I love betting on horses. It allows me to bet on horses from the relaxation of my own home. Don’t get me wrong, I also love going to the race tracks to get the all-around experience. The Good thing is that I’ve had good lucky recently and I made some cash on “Mine That Bird” during the last Kentucky Derby.
“Jaws” after his fin got cut off for shark-fin soup.
Is that a speed-limit sign or a depth marker?
I can picture the driver thinking: “Huh, that thar water ain’t look to deep ta me, I can jus’ drive me right on through”
It’s probably his Hummer, too.
I think the people on the road up there are Moses and his gang.
I’ll bet you $1 that there are barricades and this “genius” knew they just weren’t meant for “him”.
Left or right? I’m having a hard time seeing.
I wonder if headlights make fish freeze up too.

“Meh, its just a mirage.”
Could be worse. Maybe the car is sitting on a flat-bed tow truck.

Is that speed limit in mph or knots?

‘-_- (Damn, We have been detected.)
Chief, prepare for diving. 20 degrees, full ahead.
@slythorne
The vessel’s speed limit is around 40 Knots on full ballast/full ahead.
The speed limit sign is for hovercraft only.

NO NO NO!!! The GPS said turn left at Lake STREET, you’re doing this wrong; pull over I’m getting directions.
Ok….was this in the GA flooding too?
Can anyone else hear the Jaws theme?

Okay, I was a little over 45, but aren’t you being a bit extreme?
