Russian advertising on the dangers of phone use while driving. Google Images Search “giant cell phone benz”.
So this is how they immobilise stolen vehicles through cellular technology?
Don’t you know that opening a phone in a car is bad luck?
Someone’s really misunderstood the concept of a car phone…
Did he drive into the advert??
“Objects in mirror…”

Too bad it’s not a Wiimote
I think, the local newspaper article should have a heading like ” Merc V8 crashed into a Moto V8″
First thing is obviously “PHOTOSHOP!!” but the shadows are all right … why would anyone make a phone this big and why would anyone try to use it?
Even Paul Bunyan doesn’t like this newfangled techonology… and you don’t want to be anywhere nearby when he gets the urge to throw the phone!
motorolla razr, can get stuck in walls, but cant cut through benz’
The up side to this phone design is you never forget where you set it down.
Can you hear me now? Good!
Switch to Virgin Mobile now. Or else we will find you.
By the way, my V8 changes the image on the outer display to correct position when the lid is open… This advertising prop is a bit of FAIL.
My guess is the “phone” is a promotional display for installation on top of or in front of a storefront. It could have fallen onto the car from a faulty installation or from a flatbed truck carrying it to the display site.
I really hate it when I drop my cell phone and it lands on the passenger side of the car.
Is this worse or the Veyron that went for a swim?

Found this site (clickie). Looks like it was an advertisement in Russia for the partnership between Motorola and Mercedes’ new hands free support with having the phone be part of the car. The car was involved in a crash involving a cell phone, and the advertisers added the giant cell phone so people would get the point.
The phone is just a composite/plastic sign. The reinforced concrete “anti-intrusion” post it’s mounted to is the problem.
I’ve covered tons of auto-meets-concrete accidents, but apart from going flat-out sideways into the post, I can’t figure out the physics here (especially with all those walls and K-rails around)…
No, the Merc skidded into it sideways, but it’s not the only item it slid into. Must be some bollard there, otherwise it’s hard to reconcile the damage if it’s just a promotional item it hit. Or the phone is actually a real model, built for use by ogrish giants, with a structural integrity to match.
If it had fallen onto the Merc with the same force as this sideways hit has exerted, the roof would be seriously lower, if not in line with the bonnet.
Another reason I hate dropped calls.

Ciao!
Can you hear me now?
When grandpa couldn’t read the txts on his old phone, he got the large display model. Results may vary…
as always, the moto razr2 lives up to its name!
“you know sir your benz came with a hook up to put your phone threw your speakers you didn’t have to take drastic measures like that.”
Hello Motto!
Can you hear me now ?
