I would imagine they could afford the ticket…

funny car photos - I would imagine they could afford the ticket...

You’d think that if you just paid £1.5 billion for a store, you’d be allowed to park in front of it all you want, but nooooo, you have to follow the rules just like everyone else apparently.

The cars belong to the oil-rich Al-Thani royal family, who own a string of luxury vehicles – including a one-off Pagani Zonda Uno.

I wouldn’t mind having a chance at buying that Koenigsegg CCXR at a seized police auction, but I don’t think they have those in the UK

Or did the owners want to prevent bad stuff.

  2. Andrew says:

As someone who worked in central London for years, that warms the cockles of my heart. Nothing like waiting on the bus for ten minutes while some spoiled rich kid does a 57-point turn during peak traffic in his million-pound ride.

  3. PsychoDad says:

What a shame, the booting and ticketing won’t make an impression on them, will it?

    They shoulda got towed.

    By a bulldozer.

  4. Steve says:

Duh. They bought the store, not the street.

  5. Draco says:

idk maybe its just against thieves

    • NO!! says:

those arn’t anti theft you couldn’t fit a tire boot it the trunk (more like the hood actualy) ether of those cars

  6. CCX says:

That’s a Koeningsegg CCX… I saw one of those bump a garbage truck once, guess who won (and as a side note the garbage truck was also the more expensive one of the two, the CCX cost over 800 000 EUR, that particular garbage truck close to a cold 1 000 000)

They probably could pay the ticket, but like most rich people, they’ll likely do all they can to avoid paying for it.

  9. SpeedFed says:

They’ll probably just go out and buy some new cars instead of dealing with this hassle.

  10. JonesBigAssTruckRental says:

£70 for parking, right outside the shop rather than… walk with plebs…

It’s nothing to the arrogant super rich. Marie Antionette springs to mind.

  11. Thalia says:

Rich people have to follow the rules? I guess Britain is different than the US.

  12. Bren cx says:

Koenigsegg is my favorite supercar company. but truthfully since its RWD it could push its way to the nearest underground shop and cut it off. that murc however couldnt because its AWD

  13. FlyingBoxHead says:

The only reason they putt boots on their tires is because their jealous that they’ll never be able to afford that kind of car in their lifetime.

  14. LeeP says:

A truly heartwarming moment just waiting to happen: The owners of both Douchemobiles attempt to drive off without checking. RWD or no, the damage bill should be spectacular.

The Koenigsegg itself is a lovely piece of work, but this display of conspicuous wealth is utterly vulgar, zero-class and pretty much what you’d expect from a bunch of cashed-up, arrogant sand-farmers.

  15. Dave says:

Publicity stunt. Nuff said. Probably faked, as well, because UK council clampers stick great big notices on the windscreen that aren’t there in the pictures.
